I only use shell gasoline, as it is rated as a "top tier" gasoline. Only a hanful of gasolines have made this standard(endorsed by GM,Toyota,BMW, and Honda).
for more info on this subject just do a yahoo search and put in top tier gasoline.
These top tier gasolines have more than the required detergents as put forth by law from the US gov. All being said...Are fuel injector cleaners still necessary? I have heard that they do some harm to your motor oil(thinning).

I use an injector cleaner about every 10,000 miles. It cleans deposits off injectors and that amount of cleaner will not harm the oil. In fact just burning gas will thin the oil somewhat, especially if you only do short drives. That's why the shorter the drives the more often you should change oil. I put on about 20,000 miles a year and change oil every 3,000 miles.
