Recently let fuel go low on my 2.9 diesel terracan, filled up and a day later all of a sudden had a loss of revs and power. It runs fine up to 2.5k revs but wont go past approx. 2.8k revs. Drives fine but lack of power. Put in a couple of bottles of injector cleaner and changed funny looking fuel filter but still the same. Starts fine ticks over fine and no warning lights. Cant do more than 100km/h.
Any body recognise this or have any thoughts. Went to main dealer but will have to wait a week to get it booked in.

welcome to the forums :00000732:

it seems odd that this fault has only become apparant after you let your tank get low and then filled up. my first thought is have you filled up with diesel that has got some water contamination? you will need to drain some out (best idea is from the fuel filter) into a clean glass container and then let it stand for a few hours, any water in it will lie at the bottom. if you have got water in it you will need to drain the tank

Just to update this, the ecu had put the car into limp home mode to protect the engine. This may have been down to dirty fuel or whatever, anyway the guy who reset the ecu said it was now fine and could not tell me what the original code was.

All is now well.
