QUOTE(ewing @ Nov 15 2007, 01:37 PM) any longer term updates on fuel economy?
still considering an aem sri, but only if increased highway mileage justifies buying it.
My increase was 1-2 mpg (with cat back exhaust too), but with the significant increase in performance, I say it was waaay worth it!! (Keep in mind I drive like a maniac :whistling: )

QUOTE(t2t2 @ Nov 15 2007, 03:13 PM) i installed my sri 1 week now. great sound, huge increase in response, and abit increase in mileage
consider all the factor..its a great buy and a must have for any accent owners
even the decision to buy my accent was based on cost, not performance. (should be fairly obvious, considering it's got 110hp etc) additions to it, for the time being, will be to further decrease costs in the long run. if i could see a 2mpg increase in fuel economy, 34-36mpg, assuming i cover the same # of miles/month as the first month of ownership (3000) and a cost of 3.30/gallon for gas (likely higher, as that's washington state pricing & i'll have to fill up here in bc, canada, at about 4.10/gallon sometimes & gas prices will likely keep rising...) it'll take approx 15months to pay itself off in fuel savings, 30 if it only nets 1mpg increase. the added performance is a nice bonus, i guess. hrmmm... might buy one. gotta see what's left after christmas shopping this year... might have to wait until the new year, or until i sell my other car - whichever comes first.

Well... uh... so you guys know... for those of us who waited (in my case just took out the airbox and bolted on a high flow filter...) and were'nt willing to pay ridiculous ammounts of money for a pipe... i've got good news... http://www.streetkiaz.com/streetkiazx/modu...=11679&forum=72Yyyyeah kia-fx are about to put this into production... lol Ya know though....? I know everyone bought their accents for different reasons... & I'll be honest, I probably bought mine for the same reason u guys did... but Im just curious, is there anyone out there with the current intentions I have? My intention is to take the G4ED... Our motor, use every rescource I can find... prove it to be the next B-16 (honda guys will get that) And pioneer this car into the full fledged tuning and racing field... the complaints that people have about a lack of parts for our cars, is due to them not having a commonly tuned car... my mission is to fix this problem... and under-dog my way into speed... Come-on theres gotta be SOMEONE else out there who doesn't lose sleep over bad gas mileage.....

i don't lose sleep over it... just money. those tuning a car for speed probably don't drive the 4800kms/3000miles per month that i do.

QUOTE (kurt_619 @ Nov 1 2009, 12:47 AM) execuse my ignorance, but what does a strut bar do? stiffens up the front end by connecting the 2 strut towers together. Should help with rolling and tighten up handling a bit.

QUOTE (bloodninja @ Nov 1 2009, 01:03 AM) It's supposed to tie the front struts together, causing the force to be more even distributed across the chassis, so when you're going 300 mph in your Accent turning hard into a corner on a race track, it doesn't flex as much. Well, it might help a little at 150 too. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/grin.gif) I agree that you may or may not feel the difference, but on other cars i've had it seemed to make a small improvement. Always possible that kind of thing is all in my head though.
