Hi all;

I want to buy a Trajet 2003 diesel 2000 CRDI engine with 159000 km. I have some questions.

1. After start engine when push to gas comming grey smoke (Not black) is that means engine burn oil or different problem?

2. How perform with CRDI engines. Is that good enough power for this car of not? Is that economic or not etc. ?

3. What is the known common problems of this car?

Many Thanks for all your answers.

I drive a Trajet 2.0 CRDI with the same amount of km's.
No special defects known till so far.

Average fuel usage is 14 km's on 1 liter. It is a very strong engine but slow in accelerating. If you drive a lot of short distances or within cities you better buy the 2.7L.

Grey smoke from the tailpipe is not a good sign. It indicates an oil problem with the core engine. Black smoke is an indication of too much accelerating and is not bad, grey smoke however ........

Injectors and heater plugs can cause problems. It sounds like one of these

Some internal head sealing plugs come loose causing water ingress into the oil-just need tightning(quite easy).

Camshaft Wear on some cars.

Suspension Top Mounts

ABS Rings on Driveshaft

Lower Ball Joints

1st and 2nd gear selection
