My original front wheels on my 3 year old Terracan were very pitted and my dealers recently changed them under warranty. The existing tyres (BF Goodrich Macadams) were refitted and, to cut a very long story short, they are both losing pressure, big time - up to 9psi in 24 hours! I have to pump them up twice a day!! The first time it happened, I called my mobile tyre fitter thinking I had collected a puncture but he could not find one and the tyre was refitted with a new valve. Since then, the car has been back to the dealers twice to have the tyres re-fitted. As a double check, they have now refitted one of my old, scruffy wheels but it's still losing pressure, albeit not so drastically - 5psi in 5 days. Very strange, because before the 'new' wheels were fitted, the tyres hardly ever need air. The tyres still have lots of tread - one was new in Oct 06. I am at the end of my tether right now. Have I had a double, non punture related problem with my old tyres at the same time - or are the shiny new wheels to blame? Anyone had a similar experience?
I'm thinking about buying a kiddy paddling pool and submerging the wheel/tyre to see where the air bubbles appear. Would inner tubes be adviseable??
All thoughts and theories would be appreciated.
