I've just bought a coupe and spent hours cleaning it inside and out but sadly theres still a lot of wear on the leather on the two front seats. Just the usual cracks and patches where the leather has faded a bit.

Is there any sort of dye or anything I could use to clean them up a bit or just hide the gray patches? Also what would you recommend for cleaning them? Yesterday I just used leather wipes I had.

Thanks

Hi
You could try a black leather shoe dye, (from shoe shop or Ironmongers)it is possible that this might work as its made to dye shoe leather.

After doing this I would use a proper leather cleaner as this puts back goodness into the leather and this makes it supple again, sometimes the cracks if only on the surface may even reduce- I tried this on a Jag in the 70's and it worked the seats looked great then I sold the car and the interior still smelt of leather from the leather cleaner.

I have bought leather cleaner to use on my Tucson to keep it in good condition too-the Auto Glym product is the one I use.

Cheers

i got from a car trade show a few years ago some leather balsam. its called Renapur's Leather Balsam. It works great, i used it on my gear shift boot a few months ago and it took years off it.
you might find it on ebay or something but it is well worth having a pot around.

Edit: or the addy on the tub: http://renapur.com/balsam.htm
