Thanks, I had a look at this site before but it is not the one. the model is a Lantra GLS Sports Wagon the the number on the conformance plate is 2000.

The radio has a cd player and there is an ashtray under the stereo. because we live in Aus the steering wheel is on the other side but i don't suppose this makes much difference.

I had a closer look today and also found that under the radio there is a pull out cup holder and then the ashtray.

I pulled the ashtray out but could not find any screws, tried levering the pannell of this did not work either can any one shed some light ?

Valkyrie, please I appreciate your help to date any further help would be much appreciated

regards

:) G'Day

Is you car a manual? If so unscrew the gearknob and pull the gearstick boot and plastic straight up. It is held in place with spring clips and is quite tight so apply judicious force.

The screw you are looking for will be revealed under the centre console.

The other screw is behind the dimmer switch, the small roller switch that adjusts the brightness of the dash lights. Remove it and the console will pull off allowing you access to the radio. Again the spring clips will hold tight.

Take care with the A/C tubes behind the console and make sure that you unplug all the leads.

Replacement is a reversal of the process.

Good fortune.
