Hi Matrix Owners in Singapore,

Jez sharing some info....

I remember the days when, IF we needed any parts of our motor vehicle replaced, we need look no further than our Brand Agent....

:(

Aniwaes, I had to remove my pre-amp (modified to sit under my audio head deck) recently because it was making an 'aeroplane' noise. Furthermore, with my upgraded head deck, there really wasn't a need for the pre-amp (equilizer). The Tray Centre Facial had to be replaced because the previous installers cut the back of this pocket to fit in the pre-amp (equilizer). When I called Komoco, the service staff seemed rather confused what I was talking about! What's worse, when they finally declared they understood what I was talking about, they just ended the call by saying, "Sorry, we don't carry it!"

What nerve!!

:puzzled:

So I drove down to Komoco at Alexandra and grabbed hold of a service staff. I mean, who cares that the Service Department was just closed for the day. I (literally) dragged him to my car and showed him the part that needs replacing. Fortunately, this Service Staff was A.O.K. (maybe I looked like a ticking time bomb! :P )

Jacky referred me to this dealer:

SONG YI AUTO PARTS TRADING
BLK 637 VEERASAMY ROAD #01-119 SINGAPORE 200637
Tel: 6297 3700

Seeing that Jacky was really scared that I would blow up any moment, I took advantage of my upper hand and demanded that he called them!

Jacky was new and took some time describing the part. But the reply he got (while I was sitting in front of him) was almost immediate! He was even quoted a part number!!

I went down to Geylang (not for sight seeing :innocent: ) and finally found the outlet. It was pretty cool! It had almost anything from original Hyundai Oil Filters, Air Filters, Air-Con Filters etc. What impressed me most is their knowledge of the spare parts we enquire about. And it comes with the ORIGINAL Hyundai Wrapper!

:w00t: WAHHHHH!!!!

I guess, it is the next best thing to at least have ANOTHER place we can go to to find Original Parts. Of course, I wouldn't use Original Oil or Air Filters but some of it are really cheap. For example, the BOSCH Air-Con Filters are about S$25 with GST compared to S$60 if you were to get it from a workshop!

And, if you do make enquiries over the phone.... Ask whether the price is WITH OR WITHOUT GST! Of course, I so needed the Tray Centre Facial that I would have paid like S$50 for it! Fortunately, it was only S$26.25 WITH GST!

Cheers! Hope this helps my Singapore Matrix Comrades!

P.S. I do not represent or endorse SONG YI or KOMOCO.... I'm merely sharing information... So go or don't go.... It's up to ya!

:whistling:

Oh! And thanks Jacky for the great follow-up work!

Hey Guys!

Jez wanted to give a shout out to a cool Car Audio System place that set up shop around Komoco Alexandra not too long ago.

Kelvin and Ah Soon are really professional in suggesting options and recommendations for my car audio needs. The place I'm talking about....

Soundwerkz Car Audio Garage
Blk 38 Commonwealth Ave #01-09
Tel 6475 8588
Mobile (for appointment): 9009 9977

Give Kelvin a call if you're tired of all the common Alpines, Blaupunkts, Sonys, Soundstreams that you can pick up from the corner store....

And get this.... they prepare cars for "Sound Quality Competition-Ready".... Read all about it in HOTSTUFF Mag (Issue 50).... I saw the Renault in person!

Anyone else with any good places they been to in Singapore? - Open to ALL genuine Matrix owners only.... I don't need a place that sells Exhaust Pipes for an EVO!

As BabyMatrix puts it..... Let's "SHARE LAH!"

Hey Babymatrix!

Yup! I'll be going down soon to Sound Werkz (tmr to finalize my soundproofing). I saw Ah Soon preparing a car for IASCA competition in June. It's a Toyota Wish and the owner will be paying some S$10,000 for it!

I haven't done much yet at Sound Werkz. They can be pricey cos of the components they sell (and of course, the workmanship). But so far....

1. Diagnostics to remove an irritating 'Bei Ki' sound
2. Audison Amplifier
3. Audio Volt Stabiliser
4. CDT Rear Coaxial Speaker

I'll probably drop by again on Wednesday to meet up with the Owner of the Wish. He promised me a 'hearing'. If you can't make it and need to get something, just say Joseph with White Matrix said, "Hi!"

Hey Babymatrix,

Just an update....

Due to a tenancy disagreement, Soundwerkz will be moving to a temporary site at Lok Yang (Jurong).

Keep ya posted if you're interested.
