Last night (after having to wait for my ride for what seemed an eternity) I picked up my Accent SE! She's a beauty! Charcoal Gray with the black interior and 16" alloys. So far, she's a friggin' BEAST! There's a lot more power in that 1.6L than one would expect.

So now I'm starting to get "mod fever". I already have plans to paint the engine cover to match the body and I have a friend that makes vinyl signs that's going to hook me up with some carbon fiber for the door pillars. I'd like to get some of the Korean badges, if I can locate them and I have already started looking for a double-din LCD screen DVD/CD/MP3 head unit. Of course, all the speakers will be upgraded and a small subwoofer added, not that the stock sound system sounds bad at all....

I'm leaving on a trip to Tulsa next Thursday and my new baby will be parked for about 5 days, but I'll get pics uploaded as soon as I have a chance. If I'm lucky, maybe the weather will be a bit better when I return from my trip.... I'm really sick of the rain.

Anyhow, I'm glad I have my new ride and, so far, I'm a fan of the Accent.
Looking forward to how the accessories develop over the next few months or years.

Later gang!

Hawk

Cool, and a most excellent choice in color. The Accent looks great in charcoal gray, I'm glad I went with that color. :)

Enjoy the car, and I can't wait to see pics of it!

Regarding the Carbon Fiber on the outer pillars:

After taking a look at how the pillars and trim sort of flowed together, I decided that it would look pretty stupid. To make it look right, I would have had to done the whole window trim (front and back) to make it look "right". I just don't want that much carbon fiber on the outside of my car.

Hoping to be able to get the CF interior trim kit from Hyundai Canada if it's not *too* expensive.

How are you going to paint the engine cover? I wouldn't mind trying this myself. Oh, Philipps has a beautiful 8inch LCD unit; sadly, it is over $800...

congrats on the accent. your right about it being quicker than the old accents. gearing is the advantage and the engine is a bit more rev happy (doesnt run out of breath at 6k).
Final drive ratio is 4.11 geared for the bottom end

Check this link to another fine Hyundai Owner's post. I'd imagine that the CF kits will become available sometime in the near future.

http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t16313-hyund...accessories.htm

I've also seen *claimed* kits on eBay, but I can't vouch as to how accurate they're going to be.
