My tape deck (orignal part that came with the car) won't accept the tape adapter for my iPod or any other cassette. Just ejects the tape, no matter what.

I have a two-hour round trip to commute and have come to rely on my iPod to survive. (I've tried the FM adapter and the sound quality is terrible - I am in the NYC/Philly corridor - too many stations, I guess).

Anyone have any repair ideas? Or if the cassette player is beyond fixes, suggestions for replacement units?

tape deck players arent really worth fixing, it could be a snapped belt inside but it would need to be greatly taken apart to see the actual problem.
