This is not a fair price, this was a GREAT price!
But it seems more logic that the $14,650 was the car's price BEFORE taxes and add-ons (or the trade in), not OTD, Delaluz. Or can you give us the break down?
But this also PROVES again my point, that the BEST time to make a deal on a new car -- is on the LAST DAY OF THE MONTH!
I had the exact similar case, a year ago, late evening on January 31. I stopped by with my daughter's car, just for a test drive, and the guys wouldn't let me leave... They sold me the car for $15,700 (before tax, etc.) -- But the deal-maker was -- they gave me TOP Dollars ($5,000) for my 11 year old Accord that they have never even seen before...
Welcome aboard, Delaluz.

There's a Hyundai dealer around a half mile from where I play lacrosse on Sundays. Four weeks in a row I walked the lot (without the salesman) and checked the colors on the Sonatas and Elantras. This dealer had the Khaki, light silver, blue silver, beige, black, aqua, cherry red, and artic white. I was able to see the colors in bright sun, overcast, and in light rain. The first time I saw the Khaki it had a real WOW factor. I realize color preference is subjective, but here's my favorites in order:
1. The khaki looked very classy under all conditions, almost like a "Mercedes" color.
2. The Silve Blue had a very "alive" electric look. I really liked this color except that in some light it almost looks "Carolina" blue and I'm a NC State fan in the center of Wolfpack land.
3. The Arctic white looked like pure snow. Keeping it clean would be a problem.
The above were my favorites. Here's my comments on the rest:
The light silver looked a little too washed out.
The aqua -- I think it would have looked better with a dark interior
The cherry red -- I downloaded the Sonata brochure and on my computer screen the cherry red looked very "red". I thought that it would be a great "muscle" car color. On the lot the cherry red was much more maroon. I got a Sonata brochure when I bought my car and the cherry red looked maroon.
The beige -- washed out
The black -- nothing special in the stock GLS trim.
While buying my car I saw one a Deepwater Blue one. It looked black to me.
Anyway if your looking for a Sonata you should check out the Khaki. The printed brochure and the downloaded brochure don't due it justice.

The cost was: $16,500 sale price $2,500 rebate Net $14,000 document fee $399 registration $69 sales tax $156 (3% of (16,500 - 11,300 trade) Total out the door $14,625 (I just checked my papers). I avoided $330 in sales tax by trading in my car. This equates to selling my car for $11,630 to a private party instead of trading it in. They gave me 11,300 for a 2006 Elantra 5 door, 5 speed, with ABS package and 13,500 miles on it. I had it in the papers for 5 days (in Saturday and Sunday) and on Cars.com. The only call I got was the day after I traded it in. I emailed the dealer on Feb. 26 and told him I had a buyer for my Elantra and I would be buying a car from Fitzmall in 2-3 days. He emailed me back that he could sell me a Sonata GLS auto package 2 for $15,700 OTD. The next day my buyer backed out so I emailed the dealer and said it would take a week or two to sell my car. He emailed me back and asked me what I wanted. I emailed back $11,300 and gave him the URL for my Cars.com ad. On 2/28 he called me (got the number from the ad) and said he would buy my Elantra for $11,300. He also lowered his price to $14,399 plus tax and tags. I drove to the dealer an hour after his offer. This is the best deal I ever got. And, I love the car. QUOTE(mamamia @ Mar 3 2007, 06:01 PM) This is not a fair price, this was a GREAT price!

Net $14,000 --Yes, this does make sense. I'm still used to my 2006 GLS' sticker price, which was more than $2,000 higher than the '07 GLS.... So is your GLS with the manual transmission?

Delaluz, congrats, awesome deal, welcome aboard. Mamamia, the 07 GLS is actually the same car as the 06 GL. Our 06 GLS's would be the equivelant of a 07 GLS with option package #4 or an SE with a 4-cyl. Can't really compare the 06 GLS to the 07.
