Phone Hyundai Tech Services
Give them your chassis/engine details and they will be able to see if yours needs doing or needs to be done,

I've had my Tucson 2.0 CRTD CDX for almost 3 years now and today after a service the garage mentioned the "upgrade" which will be coming in September to fix the bad performance figures. A this is basically an admission by Hyundai that the original car did not meet published figures, does anyone think that there is any mileage (pun almost intended) in chasing them for compensation for the extra costs (more diesel) that I've incurred during the previous 20K+ miles???

Worth a thought maybe!

Hi Hitchy

Well me ol son you will get absolutely nowhere - I and about twenty others tried it after we bought them in 2004- We were the ones that were instrumental (another pun) in getting them to change the instrument pack and make changes to the ECM
It should improve things a bit but not by much.
You will be better off performance wise by buying a CR Powerbox as many of us have found it smoothes out accelleration, improves low down power and improves mpg by between 3-7 mpg.
My earlier Tucson got about 33-35 mpg with the gadjet and now I have a new Tuc I regularly get between 36=40 mpg overall but about 28-32 towing (depends on the Wind and the Hills!!)

Cheers

Didn't think I'd get very far to be honest given my previous communications with Hyundai.

Where's the best place to get a CR Powerbox from and how easy is it to fit (I've pretty much zero experience of fixing cars)?

Will wait until Hyundai have swapped over a load of stuff on my Tucson before fitting one.
