my sonata makes a "squeaky" noise at low speeds i think under light throttle or while coasting. maybe when going faster but i didnt try. its louder when the window is down it sounds kinda like something spinning cause tis kinda repetitive i dont think its the brakes caues the sound goes away when i press the brakes. its like squeaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueak

Check your tyres could be a nail or to extreme a unbalanced wheel. Are your tyres new as in only a month old, sometimes the tyre repairers leave the stickers on the tyres by accident.

i run into the most out there annoying random problems (i.e. engine overheating)

its a similar sound to those beater cars that you hear SQUEALING as they are simply turning a corner and you expect them to be dragging 50 cats under the car
just .. not as loud.

Please. any suggestions would be great.

there are no stickers on the tires
no nails
brand new tires balanced when i got new tires around 1 month ago
but that is not completely out of the question as i do drive the car kinda rough
but it seems pretty quick for needing balancing again

My noise sounded like a rock or rust, making a metallic rattling sound which was coming from the back passenger wheel. Embarrassing, and I would NOT tolerate it :w00t: :offtopic:

mm COULD sound like rust. but repetitive sound seems more like something going around in circles. rust tends to be more random scratching squeezing. no rattling just straight up squeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak

No willayy, like a piece of rust, a rust ball, a chip made from rust...

I can feel your pain. I had that noise. didn't you too have rusted rotors at one time?. :57:

I know you said it wasn't your brakes, but it still sounds like it's your brakes to me. When you wear brake pads down to where they need to be replaced, it makes a high-pitched repetitive squealing sound like that, and it stops when you hit the brakes. Check the brakes first and see if I'm wrong.

When you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras.

Well that was the other thing?. willayy was told he needed new Brakes months ago, and the Brakes will squeal when replacement is necessary. So...

I'm trying to recall... I think it might have been a stuck stone or rust chip as Miami said.

It wasn't brakes or tires as I had just put new ones on at the time.

Not sure what the problem was, but it's gone now and I guess that's all that matters!
