I have about 1,100 on my 2007 Santa Fe. I plan to go with synthetic oil.
Haven't had the first oil change yet.

When is it recommended to make the change ?.

Seems like the recommendation changes from manufacture to manufacture.
Is there any info. from Hyundai :liebe011:

As far as when to make the change, from oem oil to syn, you can do it anytime imo, id get the factory oil outta there in the next few 1000km , i had mine first oil change done around 4500km or so, as far as syn go, im all for it  however i have the "free" oil changes for 5yrs, so for now im just sticking w factory oil, and im changing oil as per Hyundai Rec, every 6000KM give or take, certainly if you switch to syn, you can wait longer between changes, I may or may not make the switch, odds are i will at some point

I always change to synthetic at 1500Km (1000 miles) and then again at 5000Km and every 5000Km thereafter. My cars at 100000Km look sparkling inside the oil gallery, even the mechanics are surprised at how clean the engine is.

I went to my dealer to pick up some mud/splash guards I ordered. Talked to the service guy. He said, I can do the switch at 1,500 miles. That will be the first oil change.
I was welcome to bring my own oil. They can do Castro Blend, but I prefer Mobil 1
