...Just wondering....I've always liked the Sonatas and might be purchasing a 2004 soon....I always thought it would be fun to debadge and then buy a Jag hood ornament and badges which are readily available from ebay.....
It would be fun to see how many people I could fool.....

Ok, Ok...so I'd be a poser....

I've just always thought that the early 2000's Sonatas really looked almost like a classy Jag sedan anyway....
Heck....I actually was fooled when I saw my first Kia Amanti on a downtown steet....I thought for sure it was the new Mercedes....I walked around it being very impressed and thought, now wasn't that smart to take the Mercedes hood ornament right off, since they probably were being ripped off all the time anyway!....Then I notice the kia on the wheel hubs.....Ha, fooled me!

Im sure that you could fool plenty of people with not a lot of "car sense." I have an 02 Sonata. The dealership claimed that Hyundai was sued by Jaguar because of the front style. Although, I debadged my 02 Sonata and a lot of people say that it looks like a jag at first glance. I love the clean look it gives the car anyways. Go for it, it makes the car look really clean. . . .Good idea about throwing the hood ornament on. . . . .if you do it, send me a pic. Good luck

Hi...actually, I've revised my plan to make it more like a mercedes S-series by getting one of those S.Korean aftermarket chrome grills.....and that loses the H emblem on the front as well!.....I'm surprized at how much they make the Sonatas look like the Mercedes!....I think I'll just debadge the back and not actually put Mercedes emblems on it.....might be a bit too tacky....but I think It's good to keep 'em guessing still.....

Chrome grille is a good idea, I was thinkin about that, but not sure where to find one. . . you have the GLS V6? Thats what I have and the chrome accents around the car would go perfect w. the grille. It would bring the car together nicely, instead of the shi**y black plastic. . . . .Definitely stear clear of putting the Mercedes tags on it. Lemme know if you find chrome grilles for cheap. Later

I've ordered the grill from here:
http://dreamka4u.com/m_mall_list.php?ps_ctid=15000000

Seems like a very good price and the shipping is included!
My Sonata is the LX V6....What do you think of some of the other chrome accents, like the door handle covers, mirror covers, and A pillar covers?
