Bought a 2004 2.9 manual Terracan just before Christmas, 75000km on the clock. Overall I am very happy, as I am also using it to tow a caravan (what a feast!). One or 2 problems / questions :

1) as I drive, I get a sudden loss of power (revs), typical if the turbo disengage or for a moment no diesel get through. It happens infrequently, but recently I notice it to happen at least within the first 5 kms after pulling out. An "expert" says its normal (quoting the turbo to disengage), but it can't be tru, especially if you require the power while towing!

2) what is the max amount of diesel that can be put into the tank? I went up to 77 liters - possible (I still suspect a few petrol stations not calibrated correctly, if at all).

3) Is there an overflow when filling? Got the situation recently where it looked like diesel streaming out underneath after filling it up, but could not see where from - do I need to be concerned?

Enough for now - hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship ...

Hi Roelie
Only joined today. Still waiting for my Terracan, should get it middle to end May.
Your problem sounds like fuel problem, when last was the fuel filter changed?

Terracan have small turbo lag or without turbo lag.

Check other things - air filter first, fuel line, etc.

Well, unfortunately tre new fuel filter did not do the thing ... suggestion wrt tyre sizes and thread depth to be pursued. Another remark made : solenoid in the diesel line (hope I heard correct?) - a possibility for the power loss?
