Hi. I own a 1992 excel and have actually studying the same thing at the moment and so far I've been told either a turbo starlet engine (whch I don't really want to do since your going down in engine size) or a 4G63T, which apparantly will almost slip straight in. It's the 2.0 litre engine out of Evos, which I'm liking the sound of better. Am studying up more on it at the moment so will keep you posted if I find out any more. It's not exactly a car people swap engines on all the time so I'm glad I found someone who wants to do the same.

Absolutely none. Been looking right into that. They only started making them for the X3 models. The closed I've been told is a Honda Civic kit, which is what I am looking at, it won't need too much modification compared to some other model kits. They're a similar sort of shape. HFM will be modifying mine for me, I've seen they're work and they are quite good.

I have a 90 excel that is ready for the 4G63T, aluminum flywheel, stage 3 clutch, and all wiring necessary is being changed. 4g63T will fit. The frame rails from the donor car a 92 Eclipse are the same width and the engine mounts are in the same position. The suspension components were changed last summer (progressive rate springs from INTRAX that lower the front nearly 2 inches and the rear 1.5 inches. The wheels were ordered fom quality tire MB drifter (had to be modified slightly, my son is a CNC programer). The tires are Toyo 205/45 x16. :)

I'm from Australia and that's where I've been hearing about this engine. Think it may be a 4wd engine, not too sure. Got a lot more studying to do yet. Not a person who just jumps into things, I've seen too much go wrong with my boyfriends car when he was doing his engine conversion. I've only heard of 1 being done in Australia before, apparantly got into a mag and everything, but he converted his car to all wheel drive to go with the engine. Thank-you mj77323 for the info on the kits too, I'll definitely look into that.
P.S. Where abouts in Australia are you from raver4lyf? Just curious. I'm in Toowoomba, QLD.

Mitsubishi Express vans (L300's) came out standard with a 2.0Lt 4G63.
Or a 4G64 for the 2.4Lt option. The latter ones are multipoint fuel inj. The older ones are carbies.
A 4G63T is just a 4G63 with a turbo and most likely a bit of decompression work.

Yeah, I'm looking into the same thing, but I'm planning on putting in the Alpha II engine from the X3, except with the CAPA supercharger. Unfortunately there is not much info on it. Would it fit? As for the bodykits, the body measurements are very similar... should be able to get a reputable body shop to get it to fit...

Hey a 4g63t came on fwd gallants if tht helps any and if u get a chance upgrade injectors fuel pump and lines allow bigger boost on stock turbo and engine.

Standard fuel 14psi tops
standard internals upgraded fuel system can push 25psi+ but wouldn't run tht everyday lolz. handles 20psi as a daily driver no probs.

Hey, did you guys ever have any luck with this swap?
My '94 has developed a major oil leak and i'm contemplating swapping in something a little more fun than the stock 1.5L :)

I've heard the 4G63 needs a little mod work to fit (new engine mount?); i guess there's nothing that will bolt right in? This would be my first swap, so i'm looking for the easiest swap to get me warmed up :)

Thanks
Dan
