I just purchased a 2007 Santa Fe SE.

When the vehicle is RUNNING, the small screen in the speedometer gauge is blue and displays the odometer and one of the other functions (e.g., outside temperature, range, fuel usage, etc.).

When the vehicle is OFF, the small screen is gray and clearly displays the odometer and the outside temperature (regardless of what was shown when it was RUNNING).

Is this a problem or is it supposed to be this way?

I had a 1999 Chrysler Sebring and a 2003 Mazda Miata. Both of these cars had electronic odometers and displayed readings only when ON or RUNNING. Their displays were blank when the car was OFF.

This is really a great site/resource.

In advance, thanks much for your information.

Normal. The trip computer is connected to a constant power circuit.
