Don't get me wrong, I always have my seatbelt when driving. But they are some occasion where I don't. When driving on a private lot at the cottage. Small distances at low speed to move a trailer around just doesn't warrant a seatbelt. When going at slow speed off road is another example.

On my other car I could disable this seatbelt warning sound myself. I don't think it was in the manual but guys in the forum figured it out. Anyone out there know if this is possible? Either manually or by a Hyundai tech?

p.s. Shout out to Capt canuck who also post in CanadianDriver forums. We both defended the Santa Fe where the editor said we didn't have a particular option but we did.

 Gotta support the SF - especially when they said we didn't have a front windsheild de-icer!

I know what you mean about the ding-ding sound when the seatbelt isn't on. I've got a fairly long driveway and a mailbox two doors down, so I don't use my seat belt when I go check the mail on the way out. The thing that amazes me is that it doesn't do it if the passenger doesn't have their belt on.

Has anyone else noticed a really annoying rattle from the seatbelt buckle when locked into the tensioners? Its really annoying, like the buckles dont locate tight enough into the clasp, therefore as you move in your seat they produce a rattle?

Seatbelt buckle quiet here too.

Seat warning does go off after a minute but then comes back on after another minute. I tried it last weekend when I went off road. I tried to convinced myself the noise is not annoying. Then the sound stopped. I was happy. Thinking a temporary warning is the best of both worlds. Then the sound came back. :(
