Hello Forum,
1st time on this forum..... so I was wondering if anyone had discussed the fuel figures as yet for the 3.3 awd...

For my first tank it was like 411kms mostly around town and driving like a human being, the second tank was around the same and now these are my statistics according to the trip computer....

total kms covered by car : 1263
50 kms to next fill up
15.2 ltrs / 100 kms
388kms so far on this tank full.

I have heard that when a car is new it uses a bit more gas until everything frees up but this is way over the printed fuel figures for this car, does anyone have any simular experiences, is there any light at the end of the tunnel ???

I am not complaining about fuel costs, its just my last suv a landrover discovery was doing approx the same economy....

As an English guy living in Canada I also understand that our gas is cheaper than in Europe so I guess I dont understand why this new Santa Fe is burning such a lot of gas...

any feed back is greatly accepted...

regards,
john.

Hey first off Welcome to the board, you'll find it very imformative, RE fuel cost, there was a post about that, http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t13497-2007-...consumption.htm

welcome!

Your fuel stats are very similar to mine. I noticed better fuel economy after the first 1500kms, however, slippery conditions (AWD kicking in more) and cold weather will all make the vehicle burn more fuel. My most recent city mileage has been poorer lately, approx 14.5L/100Km because of the recent cold slippery conditions here in Edmonton. On the highway I've noticed that the vehicle does a little better than what the expected stats are. I should mention that my stats are with high rolling resistance winter tires as well.

Welcome! You'll definitely get better milage once you get it broken in some more - I think all of us here found that it increased as we racked up more mileage. I'm getting around 12L/100km, but I do mostly highway driving and I've got the FWD.

It seems that I will have to wait to get some good / better fuel figures once my SF is run in a bit more...

Thanks to all for your replies so far..
