Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so it's possible to provide reliability information on new models quickly. Also, any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly.

I've started posting results for the Entourage, but more participants would still be very helpful.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, panel members will receive full access to the results free of charge.

Details: Vehicle reliability research

Comments, questions, and suggestions welcome.

I had too few responses on the 2006 Sedona to issue "official" results this month, but based on the 16 owners that did participate it's reliability looks worse than average, but not downright bad.

That is the first model year, though, and I've noticed that reliability often improves with the second model years. Eleven Entourage signed up so far. Need more for results in August.

Results for both the 2006 and 2007 next month, though both will be asterisked for low sample sizes. More participants would be very helpful.

Those results posted in another thread here. Next set in February. Could certainly use more participants.

Another update in early May.

Additional participants always helpful.

Results recently posted for the 2006 Sedena and 2007 Sedone and Entourage. For both years the repair rate is about average, maybe a bit better.

Additional participants always helpful.

We've updated the results for the Entourage to include owner experiences through the end of March. A big thank you to this forum and its members for helping to make this result possible.

With a repair frequency of 69 repairs per 100 cars per year, the 2007 Entourage is about average.

We'll have further updates in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.
