Hi there, another Scot here looking for information to help a top end rebuild of my 2000 Galloper turbo. If there is a chance of someone sending a pdf file or similar with a manual I would be very grateful. My email is rwt_charmer@hotmail.com.

The info I need is the cylinder head bolt torque settings and the inlet and exhaust valve clearances. I read a post from someone else in Panama who summed up the problem of owning one here. The official dealerships are so expensive its uneconomic to go there with a car more than a coulple of years old and the alternatives, although plentiful and cheap, don't inspire confidence. Hence the reason for the home rebuild!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Jim

as far as l know the galloper service manuals are no longer available on-line (if anyone knows otherwise please let the forum know).

however a service manual for the mitsubishi pajero is widely available and the two vehicles are very much the same

This thread looks like there are a lot of people asking for the manual, but I’m not sure if anyone is actually getting it sent to them. If I am wrong, I apologize. It just seems to me like there is not a lot of content here to tell people where to go to find the information or possibly some feedback if there is an exchange of information.

If you’re looking for a ’98 manual. I found a website with a manual for a ’97 in Spanish that may be of use. I have a 2000 and the images depicted in the General Section are identical to my vehicle. I’m not sure what year the Galloper changed to the Galloper II (first to second generation).

Anyway, I found my manual at this website.

http://www.manualesdemecanica.com/en/compo...-startdown/650/

You have to register with the site before you can download anything. Most of it is English (or possibly another language of your choice) and aside from me crawling through a small portion of the Spanish on the registration page, it was simple. If you download the file, it will download as a .rar file, which WinZip easily unzips. Each section is separated into its own PDF file, but there is one that says GLPR97 that lists the table of contents. If you click on the section you want, it will open the appropriate section. All you have to do is read Spanish, or be able to translate with something else. At this rate, my Spanish sucks, but it’s much easier to type Spanish into a translation tool than Korean.

The only other link I found was on this thread:
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t42263-manual-galloper.htm

It lists this link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RJ62NB3F

I hope this helps. In the mean-time, I hope this is the right manual for my vehicle. It appears that I’m going to have to tear into my front Auto Lock hubs since I can’t get them to lock into 4-wheel drive.

Ray

Edit: Addtional Info.

You may be able to look for a Manual for the Mitsubishi Pajero, but I'm not sure of how identical these are. I will continue to look down that avenue as well.

Repair Manual(spanish) is very heavy (72Mb) and is impossible emailing. EPC(Electronic
Parts Catalog) software is heavy too. I recommend download from this russian link. Is excelent:

http://www.hyundai-autoclub.ru/galloper/

other excelent link is Argentine Galloper Club http://clubgalloper.com.ar/foro/index.php with an excelent repair section.-

Gallopers I and II are exactly to Monteros/Pajeros up to 1996. Mitsubishi's engines and gearboxes was made in Korea. Galloper engine is D4BF 85hp (turbo wagon) and D4BH 105hp(intercooler). Are identical engines that Mitsu's 4D56 (block of Gallopers have this id).- Spare parts for Mitsu's can be interchangeables with Gallopers (engine parts, gearbox parts and some axles parts)

Best Regards.-
