If you have a DIS system then there should already be a wire all set up for the tach to hook into behind the dash. Check a wiring diagram for your year/model and find the color wire for the tach that is supposed to hook up to your gauge cluster. Pull the gauge cluster out and find the wiring harness, you can backtrack the wires that plug into the back of the cluster to another set of wires that should be to the right. Find your wire color (make sure it is the right one as there will be some similar ones) and double check to make sure it is not already hooked up to something else. Then you can has a wire tap to hook up to the sensor wire. You should not need to hook to a coil unless you have a distributor.
