Have a noise that occurrs at the same distance from start up every time. It is akin to an airvalve venting. Any ideas. 1.8 Matrix Auto

Try checking your PV valve hose, it maybe be damaged by the extreme tempreature... :)

Hi..

I have the same noise (like gas being released) on my 1.8 CDX manual.. It normally happens about 10-20 seconds into driving off. Only happens on first acceleration.

Other than plugs and oil change i have no mechanical expertise so i'm not sure what the PV valve hose is

Have you check your extractor is in good condition ? Sometimes the extractor crack will cause the same problem it only happened when you warm up the engine to certain temp, then it will go off after fully heated. I change my extractor cos it make sound like diesel car cost it leaking air
