My dash board lights and temp control lights are non- existent now.
Ive checked the fuses down below and they all seem fine.

Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem before.

Headlights and highbeams are fine etc.
Just the interior dasboard lights dont glow at all.

Please Help
Thanks

the dioda "Z04" is most likely blown. your dealer will fit an updated (higher amp rating) one.

What other model year Canadian Accents are affected by this? I just found out this applies only to the cars with the DRL system.

I went into the dealer.

They gave me a new diode.

There are 2 slots for the diodes to go into, under the fuses in the fuse box.

Which one gets replaced and which one stays put?
Get back to me , Thanks.

I tryed both slots and moved them around etc.

Any ideas what else it might be?

in the under-hood fuse box is the DRL-relay, pull it out and try enother one (PN# is normally stamped on the relay) momentarily.

Hi all,

I have the exact same problem with my wife's 01 Accent.

I have changed out the diodes to no avail.

Did changing the DRL Relay work?
Is there more than one DRL relay? ( just wondering if i can just swap 2 and see if it helps?)

Thanks for any feedback.

Hey all, me again.

I have not tested this theory yet...but I believe the diodes contmpt and I swapped were the wrong ones.

Z01 and Z02 are in the panel inside the vehicle.
Z04 & Z05 are in the panel under the hood. It is these diodes we should have been switching. ( I bet ). :wink2:

Exactley, it was the ones under the hood I had to change and bingo. Took 1 minute to fix the problem.

So if the diode can be plugged in both ways round - try it both ways round as it will work one way, but not the other.

Just thought I'd clarify that for the less technical of us

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here (especially Duke) this was my first forum troubleshooting attempt and it worked out great. Like Contempt said, 1 minute to fix the problem.

One other point of note, everyone should add www.hmaservice.com to their favorites. Especially those technically inclined. Loads of useful information there.

Thanks again.
