I haven't actually pulled the Monsoon model 285 out of my 04 Sante Fe, but have been looking at some pictures of the back of one that I found on Ebay.

I see the 24 pin connector for wiring it, but there is also a 12 pin connecter to the left of it.

What is this for?

I am looking for a way to wire an Ipod into this thing cause the FM transmitter just isn't doing it for me, and the Cassette deck keeps saying that the cassette adapter is a broken tape.

don't realy want to replace the unit, cause using the ipod in the car isn't incredibly important to me, but would be nice if not to darn difficult to make it happen.

Thanks
Duke

I am also trying to do the same thing and can't find any specs on empty 12-pin adapter the Monsoon D-285. I am assuming it's for a CD changer and then could also be used for an MP3 AUX line in. If you have done this PLEASE let me know the specific adapter you used.
