I fitted a K&N dop in filter to my Getz, because at the time the induction kit was not available here in the UK, but since the 11th of November it is available, the problem I have with the drop in filter is that my FC has gone through the roof since I fitted it, I am now thinking of putting back the old filter, but then again it has been suggested that I should try resetting my ECU first, so I may give that a try, but if you want me to recommend K&N I personally would stear clear, but other people will tell you different, I can only tell you my own story.

hhmmnnn......methinks its better to wait for a few months or atleast till the warranty period of the car and then try out on the induction kit.The Hyundai guys here in India would just take their hands off any responsibility if i try out on any of the kits i mentioned earlier......so is the reason I've still not shod my car with a bigger set of Rims. They say its better i wait till the warranty period expires......or get ready for the warranty to be waived!!! Is it like that in UK or Malaysia ?
The bottomline if I shod the huge Rims and induction kit is that the FC might hit the sky....but just how much is too much? I'll have to wait 'n watch. Coz I remember the last time i shod my ex-honda city v-tec with R16 the FC dropped drastically. Also, the fuel prices have hit the stars.I dont understand if its the best choice to have an induction kit fitted anyways!

No I have not gained any power that I can feel!!! and like I said before the FC is terrible, it has gone from what I thought was a poor (average) 24mpg to 19mpg, I have been in touch with K&N here in the UK and they have said that I should be getting better FC, but no explanation why I am getting worse. They also said that fitting an induction kit would also make my FC worse, so I will leave that alone. The only avenue left now is to refit the old filter, I was thinking of resetting the ECU, but I have been told that will make no difference either!!!!!

Without putting in a performance exhaust system and a chip, you won't notice any difference in power with a K&N, or any other performance filter for that matter.

With a cold-air intake, you'll notice the sound more than anything. It'll sound a bit throatier, but that's it. Without a bigger exhaust system, the extra air you're getting into the motor won't get out any more efficiently than it does now. So, therefore, no noticeable change.

Although, I've heard Hyundais run a bit rich, so it should actually help the fuel mileage a bit by leaning out the air-to-fuel ratio a bit.

We try this product and seems to work fine out here... www.xtreme-101.com

As usual, performance varies according to car conditions/designs, and of course the driving habit and proper maintenance of the vehicle.

have fun.

Hai all,
What can I say is our Hyundai car not efficient in (-) Grounding. I also experienced what u all has. My office mate (Electronic Eng.) told me to upgrade my earth wire with ø6mm (outside diameter). I connected engine block, head block, distributor, alternator, aircond compressor and existing ø2.5mm (without takeout) directly to (-) battery. You can DIY, just buy 4.5m lg. wire and wire connector. After all, you will notice...
1) Batter FC
2) Batter Rev
3) Smooth idling
4) Clear sound from your radio
5) ECU more efficient in term of controlling your engine device
* All above is my experience. It has proved with HI-scan equipment.
