Hello all,

I am both a newbie to this forum & a complete dunce with regards motor repairs, so apologies if this is posted in the wrong place or a stupid question.

My wife owns a 2006 (06) Amica GSI. This week a couple of electric problems have occurred:

1. The rear wiper stopped working for a couple of days, but has now started again.
2. The heater/blower has stopped working completely.

I looked to try & change the fuse today for the blower, but wasn't sure where it was. The only one that seemed to indicate it might be for the blower (as per the abbreviations on the cover) was a large 20A one under the bonnet rather than in the fuse box under the dashboard, & there isn't a spare for it as far as I can tell.

My questions are firstly, am I looking in the right place for the fuse, & secondly are these 2 problems potentially connected or indicative of a more serious problem?

Any help much appreciated, not least by my frozen wife :)

welcome to the forums :00000732:

the fault on the rear wiper and the heater blower are unlikely to be connected.

the fuse box is under the dash. on the drivers side, check all the fuses first but there could well be other issues with the blower motor, the resistor (which regulates the speed of the fan) is a likely suspect or maybe the switch or the motor itself. you may need to get this checked out by a proffesional if you're not sure what you are doing, however you will still get some heat from the heater while the car is moving as the air flow will push warm air into the car
