Wow!
Thanks for the indepth reply Nathan! To be honest at first I didn't quite understand it but after reading it all the way through (and re-reading some bits to make sure my mental image was correct) I'm pretty sure I understand what you are saying.
Now, the previous owner of this car was an old guy - and after a bit of research it seems that a lot of other accent owners with a similar problem had an old person as a previous owner.
When selecting reverse - I always make sure the vehicle is stationary. When I start the car at home I normally dip the clutch before starting the car - then hold it dipped to select reverse (I always have to reverse out) - and it gets stuck 99% of the time (until I lift the clutch a little).
Also, the clutch does like to slip a bit when I have to pull out of a junction fast and turn at the same time (though in the wet the wheels just spin) - so I know the clutch isn't to healthy. I don't sit at lights balancing on the clutch either if you were wondering, or burn away at every opportunity.
So, armed with the information you have given me, and a print out of this topic (certain phrases deleted for politeness tho  ) I shall take this and my car to my dealer and tell them to fix it - or I'll ram it so far up that place where the sun don't shine that they'll be tasting paper for months to come
Thanks again for your support and assistance - this forum really wouldn';t be the same without you mate :57:
