if the engine is running o/k yes it's safe to drive, however take it to your dealer as soon as you can so that they can check the fault code on the hyundai scanner, it's very likely something quite minor

in my 2004 terracan CRDI the engine checklight did also lightup when eccelerating fast or climbing a steap hill. My dealer had checked the fauld codes and it came up with an fould with the fuellinjectors. He found that the first injector was leacking and therefore the commonrail could not build up enouch pressure when eccalerating. He replaced all four injectors just in case and since then the engine performs much better and has definetly more power. This I know for sure because I'm towing a 2 horse trailer regulary.

I had troiuble with my Engine warning light coming on and occaisionally the engine faultered under heavy load (going up large dunes of very fine sand). This was at around 40.000 km. I had been occaissionally running biodiesel of varying mixes since about 5,000 km with no apparent problem. The dealer did a full diagnostic and ran a flushing kit through the injector system. This helped but the issue was not resolved. I eventually decided to change the fuel filter myself...and no problems since. The fuel filter is a very good one and runs very fine filtration so I'm assuming I just glogged up. I now plan to replace the filter as a matter of course every 30,000 km.

You can use the original Hyundai part or the Delphi.
Last look in Oz was;

Whole Filter Assembly 313 90H 1952
Original Cartridge 313 90H 1970
There are 2 types one in printed box
Or plain box same filter as informed by the spares man HY-AL008M0010
Delphi 31395-H1952 and OK52A13480 = to HDF924

Cheers
Brad

Hi guys just a quick note to say that UK dealers have now started to add a fuel additive/cleaner with every service (10000 miles in UK) and wont say why.

curious in light of your problems.

We dont in Essex. I know metallic fragments are a problem in a lot of Terra's and Sante Fe's.
