Just installed a turbo in my 1992 excel and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to eliminate the Air Flow meter, What would the wiring be like. Or should i keep it installed, or is there a differnet Flow Meter that would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will post pic's soon. It's one of a kind, and has a wide body kit installed.

Thanx in advance

Why call BS on a thread like this?

because he turboed his excel or cuz he has a widebody kit? i doubt somebody would join a forum just to make a lie like that, and i doubt somebody would make up a stupid lie in a forum they expect to stick around in.

To answer your question there are two ways to eliminate the maf sensor

To eliminate the MAF sensor and retain the stock ECU, you will need to get an SMT-6 or similar that can alter the signal of the MAF, then you hook a MAP sensor into the input and the wire that goes to the ecu (formerly the MAF signal wire) and adjust it so when the MAP sensor reads a certain pressure and outputs the coresponding voltage to the SMT-6, the SMT-6 changes the voltage to what the MAF sensor would have read at that particular airflow and sends it to the ECU...

Not real easy.

The other way is to go standalone, which will use a MAP sensor.

No offense meant, but I've been around message boards for many many years and I see tons of posts like these pop up.

Look at his post count, he only has one post. Sure, I see your point of why would you post all that and lie about it, but you have to see my side at the same time. The stock motors, 4G15, isn't really known to make a lot of power with a turbo in stock form, or be reliable (from my experiences). Sure, it'd be awesome to do and a total sleeper (I'm 1/2 tempted to do it myself), but on a car this old and dropping all that money on a stock motor, just doesn't make sense. It'd be easier to drop in a 4G63T swap than try to turbo the stock 4G15 and make it reliable and make good power (200+whp).
