Having driven (Dodge Caravan) minivans with 'Auto delay off' headlights for many years, we just assumed our new Entourage would have this feature, and were astounded to discover that it does not. It is a feature that we really like. A Google search seems to indicate that US models of Entourage have the Auto Delay Off, but Canadian models do not. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks.

I don't beleive US models do. What they do have is automatic headlamps that come on when it gets dark. Like the rest of the US models, the Entourage headlights turn off when you switch off the engine and the parking lights go off when you remove the key, which is done to prevent battery drain.

Hi, Mike, and thanks so much for your reply. I am quite confused about this, because a Google search for 'hyundai entourage autio delay off headlights' brings up a number of dealers w/new vehicles for sale, and the spec list under 'safety' shows 'Headlights (Auto-Off): Auto Delay Off
Headlights; (Auto-On): Dusk Sensing'. Here is a link to one of these: http://carbonehyundai.com/New-Inventory.as...toryId=11220514

So, you can understand my confusion, I hope...

I have questioned Hyundai's ability to provide the latest in electronics are are astounded by the lack of simplistic yet effective software inclusions. Auto delay is a simple yet effective feature that should be added. I have a software solution if the hyundai system can be upgraded. Instead of the chip reading as a clear when key removed if should read delay to 060 seconds and clear when car is locked........ Hyundai take note your software sux's

Not to highjack this thread, but there is a lot in the realm of customizable features that are found in other manufactures, that keep me wondering, why not?

For instance, speed sensing door locks, perimeter lighting when the keys are removed from the ignition (that is head lights and back-up lights on at the same time), just to name a couple things that would have been nice additions.

You're right. The speed-sensing doorlocks are another Dodge Caravan feature that we did not realize Entourage was missing. I consider this to be an extremely important safety feature. The Entourage has so many things going for it, with so much included, it doesn't make sense to overlook these things. We really like the Entourage, are impressed with its safety rating, but are extremely disappointed not to have the automatic doorlocks and the delay-off headlights.

for speed sensing door locks, you dealership can program them and its covered by the dearlership

they did it for my sanfa fe just 2 weeks ago no problem, them come on at 30 km/h and work perfectly fine

as for the delay-off headlights, i totally agree with you guys, i just thought it was something that i would of got with the santa fe considering that most other SUVs come with it, and most other mini-vans as well.

My 1987 Toyota came with it, so its not like its something new
