Its really easy to change the filter. you can use a regular oil filter wrench to get it off (obviously to size). Just pull the cap straight up, and keep it straight when you pull it away from the car. Get a handful of paper towels, and pull out the filter assembly, and pitch it. Wipe down the threads and smooth surfaces with another paper rag (the blue ones you can buy at advance, carquest, etc). Soak up as much oil as you can on the bottom, and then prep the new filter. Put a little new oil on the o-ring on the bottom of the filter, and push it into place. Drain the old oil that remains in the cap (if the center piece comes off, it snaps right back into place, I take it off anyways to get it really clean). Remove the old O-ring from the cap and the center piece. Install the new O-rings and lightly lube them with fresh oil. Install the cap onto the manifold. Hand tighten. If it won't go all the way with your hand, use the oil filter wrench or strap wrench to tighten it (if it takes ALOT of force, something ain't right, it should be relatively smooth and easy to turn...this just gives you the leverage you need). Once its securly tightened onto the manifold, you can plug up your drain pan, and fill the car up with oil. Mine takes 5.5 quarts. I start her up and leak check the filter manifold before replacing the plastic cover.
On another note, Both my Sonata and Azera do the valve tapping noise on start up, like there is no oil. Even though it sounds crappy, its normal. There is still oil on the parts, and once the engine gets the oil everywhere, it runs smooth. The timing chain on the Azera does make noise, but its a different sound from the valves tapping on cold start.
