Hi,

same problem here ... :amen:

QUOTE
Ask your dealer to solve the problem by re-pasting the framework.

What do you mean by re-pasting ? Did they remove the windshield and re-fit it, or what did they do on your car ?

Thx,
Brandy

Hi!
The problem was solved!
In the places that are shown on the pictures by the pen you should paste the framework by the silicon hermetic in all it length.

That is about the place where I located the source as well! After (temporary)covering it with tape, the noise was gone.

Still a bit puzzled by the meaning of 'pasting the framework'. Is it a job that can be done by yourself? How to remove the framework and paste it back again? Can it be removed partly? Is it glued or just mechanically fitted? Does anyone have a copy of the workshop manual where this job is described?

Or is this a specialist job for the official dealer?

Sparks

It's a simple operation. You don't need some special skills to make it by yourself. But my car is on the garantee and all work was made by the dealer.

You don't have to remove the framework. On the 2nd picture it was turned off by the pen (it couses the vibration and a noise), just pour the hermetic (glue or something) under the free end of the framework.

Hi All... my Trajet also have the same problem and the funny thing is that the sound seems to be coming from the left front side. All this while I thought that it was caused by my putting an additional (smaller) mirror unit on top of the side mirrors coz there's a reasonable amount of gap in between that might cause the whistling. Alas I know that it's not! Nevertheless I think I'll highlight this problem to KOMOCO on my next visit there. Thanks for the great info!

Cheerios!

Hello from Holland :bwekk:

I noticed the whistling noise at speed > 130 km/hr for the very first time when had my window replaced because of a crack in the glass.
Note that at the time I had my new car for just 2 months, and I did not drive too fast during that period. So it is difficult to say whether the problem has always been there, or was introduced after the first replacement of the window.

The dutch company "Carglass" who's the icon in carglass replacement, put a new window in, including new rubber sealants.
Week later, driving too fast again  I noticed the noise for the very first time.
Luckily "Carglass" gives us long-life guarantee on their replacements, so I went back.
They replaced the window for the second time, but the problem occurred 1 month later, again while driving fast with heavy winds.
So I went back for th 3rd time this week, but this time one of the experts told me they found the rootcause of the whistling.

Rootcause: the rubber sealants, as mentioned by Driver, when mounted between window and frame are HOLLOW. Air will enter the front grill, pass under the hood, and enters the the hollow rubber at the entrance point both left and right of car (the location as indicated in Driver_RF's photo).

Solution: Fill up the 2 entrance points with approx. 5-10 cm of foam. In simple words: "just close the doors".

I took the highway and went up to 160 km/hr. So far so good, the noise has not returned (yet).
