I have a 2004 XG350L that I will be garaging for a year. Will I have any problems if I disconnect the battery, or will it be ok if I leave it alone? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks!

you should have no problems with the car if you dis-connect the battery, you will have to re-programe your radio and auto seat adjustment when the battery goes back on and of cause it will need re-charging before you put it back on......have a good trip

You'll need to do more than just disconnect the battery!
Do you know the procedure to follow when storing a car for 6 months or more?

Absolutely no clue. I will be back in December/January for about 10 days, so I will be using it then.

Any advice you can give me or a website you can recommend?

Thanks for the help.

OK, assuming your car will be indoors

First af all clean it!

Disconnect the battery
support the car on axle stands, thus taking the weight off the tyres.
let the tyres down 10PSI
open all windows 1/4 inch
place transmission in neutral
disengage parking brake
pull back the wiper arms the way you would as if you were changing the blades and leave them like that
place rags in the engine air intake and exhaust to stop small animals getting in there and chewing things
finally get a big box of mothballs and place them all around and under the car to keep critters away
Cover with a large bedsheet

Bon Voyage!

Thanks for all the great tips. My XG was fine but, as you mentioned, needed a jump. Leaving again tomorrow, will see my baby in 12 weeks!

Take care and Godspeed.
