 I note the standard terracan bars have a measily 34kg load rating meaning its unlikely i'd be able to use my roofbox . However 34kg is sufficient to carry a couple of lightweight mountain bikes . Unfortunately the standard bars seem rather wide & an odd profile has anyone found & fitted a pair of bike carriers to the standard cross bars ? If so what make & model & where from ? Thanks to anyone that can help ........

Hi there I use the standard roof bars with Thule bike carriers, I did have to modify the clamp U bolts and widen the holes in the brackets with a round file to accomodate the standard bars . I carry two adult size mountain bikes with no problems and have covered some 2-3000 miles with no issues.

hope it helps , Hammy

Thanks for the reply which model rack have you got ? Is it the freeride 530 or the dearer proride 591's that you have got ? Is it a struggle to lift them on to the roof or is it quite easy to manage ? Thanks
