Is your car an automatic? My Lantra is a 5-spd manual and I can guarantee that it doesn't get anywhere near 65kmh in first gear.

I have a the 1800cc G4CN motor with the KM206 5-speed transmission.

I think that you may have a problem with your "pointer" or speedometer if it is reading that high in first gear. These cars are geared very low - I am in 5th gear at 65km/h.

Hi, I have a 1994 Lantra 1.8l twin cam and the first gear ratio is 3.083:1. Final drive ratio is 4.592:1 and on a rough calculation, your motor would have to be turning at about 9,000 rpm to be getting 70-75 kilometres per hour. I would be looking for another motor real soon if you are doing this regularly.
