Hi Folks,

I got the check engine light on.

1 month ago I have replace the transmision for my Elantra 1999.

This time I bought a ODB reader and I read the codes myself.
The trouble codes are:
P0310 - Cilinder 10 missfire
P1700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0710 - Pd - Transmision Fluid Temperature Senzor Circuit Malfunction

The transmision has a waranty for 1 year.

Look like the job is not complete.
Any thoughts about this?
Any idea is valuable.

Regards.

I have the same codes from my (cheap) code reader, however when I read it with my sons there are no codes. I guess you get what you pay for.

Rotary, unplug the battery for good 10-15 minutes plug it back on, and then see if the light comes back on. Take it for a 10-15 miles ride.

If the engine light comes back on, you would be better off to go and check it at AutoZone. If their ODB reader returns the same codes, then you should prolly make a visit to the guys who put the tranny on. They should replace it for free if still in warranty and defective.

By the way:

"P0310 - Cilinder 10 missfire"
...should be an eyebrows popper from the start. I am yet to see a 10-cylinder car.
