have just purchased a new terracan and have felt this vibration start at around 75-80km around town - the dealer doesn't acknowledge any fixes - just the problem- have read all the forums on this - anywhere from fitting better shockies to diff problems - has anyone had this fixed -the car has done this from new and has only done 700km.

I think I have had the same problem. I have had it since new also. My Terracan gets the same harmonic vibration you speak of.

My dealer has acknowledged the problem but cannot fix it either. They are baffled.

I have read that it can be a variety of things also. I have had my rear diff checked by dealer and its ok and has never had the shudder caused by improper lube.

I read on this forum once that another guy described the same sound and he changed a universal joint that had a flat spot and that fixed it.

Mine makes the noise when I put on a bit of accelerator/power or take it off. Always around 60-80kms/hr. And sometimes it des it when I manually shift from 4th gear(OD) to 3rd and vise versa on the auto.

Sometimes is louder than other times and is hard to hear. Sometimes I can feel it just a bit through the pedals and steering wheel.

Mine is a petrol by the way so it may not be your diesel at fault. I would love to get it fixed. I am thinking of having the car looked at by a driveline specialist to see if they can identify the problem
