Hi Guys, newbie here..

Just would like to ask if any here who has acquired the latest CRDi model is experiencing the same with my unit.

I got mine in January and boy..in only a month of driving I already experience some irritating noise in my engine especially when it starts up cold. Thought it will just go once driving in constant speed but it remained even when reaching 80 to 100kph at 2,000 to 3,000rpm. I sent the unit back to my dealer and after a while of diagnostics, they figured the alternator was the one that's creating the noise. True enough, when they took out the alternator, it produces a clicking sound by just manually rotating it..perhaps some bearings have been damaged. They replaced it of course and the noise went away.

Now, after about 6months of driving (I've just reached 10,000km), the noise came back again but this time it manifests itself only at start-up. As soon as the engine reaches its operating temperature, the noise stops. One thing I also noticed is that the noise worsens as soon as I turn the airconditioners on. But upon driving for about 1km or so the noise just disappears. Is this a normal occurence for this model? I have taken my unit to my dealer several times over to relay my experience but they can't seem to address that noise at start-up.

Anybody here with the same experience and perhaps some answers? Would appreciate some reply. Thanks! :57:

got my problem solved guys..the service center changed my drive belt and relieved my engine of the noise at start-up..thanks for paying attention anyway.. ;)

just wanted to share you this story. got my drive belt replaced as i've mentioned above right? well, after 3 days of driving, the noise came back at start-up. the technician's prognosis is that the belt installed may not be of the proper size. does this happen in your region? don't they have standard-sized components for whatever model you need repaired?

anyway, i think they are not used to examining crdi engines here yet. what they've suggested to do this time is to try on a smaller sized (according to them) drive belt as they reckon the original replacement was a bit larger and became loose due to constant driving (?)

in case anyone here has a similar problem, i would appreciate getting any related experience and result..

if you want to see if a noise became from a belt put inside of it baby powder the noise should be gone :thumbsup:
