My first post here...

I have just bought the new SantaFe here in sweden and here they are sold without the integrated stereo and there is no way to get it. The steeringwheel buttons are there but no stereo :(

Does anyone know an online dealer where I can buy it as a spare or something?

Hej!
Here in Finland Santa Fe is sold with integrated stereo. So, I suppose, it should be available as a spare part, too.

Hmmm.. Hyundai here in sweden says it because the stereo is made for the US-marked and lacks RDS and such but if it's sold in finland it should work just as fine in sweden. Thats really strange... :(

That model that I have in my car really lacks RDS, which was a surprise  I just called Hyundai Motor Finland and asked if it is possible to buy stereo as spare part. Thay would have liked to know first my cars chassis number. Anyway, they said that there might be two models available, one with cassette and CD, one with CD alone (as I have). Those should be available in Belgium, but at the moment none were available, so they couldn't tell the price.

PS. Det skulle vara möjligt, att du ringer själv till Hyundai Motor Finland och talar svenska, för vi är två språkigt land -- ändå i princip :)

Uk spec has RDS and MP3 player. What I dont understand is why its not DAB. Analogue signals are being faded out ine the uk from 2009.

AMENDMENT- it doesnt come with RDS!

Hi, I have bought new santa fe a month ago. Here in Czech rep. every model is equipped with MP3 and RDS. And it s also available as a spare part(for about 270$)

But my friend told me that every car has the stereo from the factory. But the problem is that stereo is not mounted, but is placed in the box in the cargo.

I have just bought a cdx crtd, fantastic!. I am suprised to see that the radio doenst display the channel, just the frequency. I find it strange such a "state of the art" doenst have such an old feature of RDS radios.
i haven't a radio manual, its "on order". Is there a setting i am missing.

Ps, I love this car! :460:

amendment - I now have the booklet, i cant beleive that there isn't radio text. Even in a bog standard cheap rds it has radio text.

I have spoken to Hyundai- there was a misprint. Sante Fe's DONT come with RDS.

I ordered a Santa Fe from the brochure which features RDS. But no RDS Radio is fitted.

My dealerdid not inform me of the change so hence a fight with dealer and Hyundai on hand.....

Has anyone managed to upgrade to RDS yet??

THERE IS NO RDS in UK!!!, I contacted Hyundai direct and they said it was a missprint. the Dealers where have meant to be informed.
Do what I did, contact them and tell them its misrepresentation etc, insist on written confirmation that your car will have an RDS fitted free of charge if one is produced in future. if they fail to do this, tell them that the RDS was a consideration when buying the car.

You have to tell them you saw it on one of the pages on the brochure *which it is!, dont say that you read it in a car magazine etc.

I purchased off brochure specs. and since delivery have been arguing the case that this is a major part that influenced the purchase. I travel around a bit and love to listen to radio rather than CD/Tape.

RDS is important. In this day of "HANDS FREE" motoring I would expect such a simple idea to be put in a car of it's design and price bracket.

I am willing to give up the car just because of this issue as I do not feel comfortable but irritated by changing radio stations - Just like back in the 80's!!!

Owners stand up and fight for what you have paid for.....

Hyundai Head Office service - Just explain it away as a mistake and blame the dealer......

hey guys sorry, a little off topic here. but i wanted to ask santy owners from europe this question. (Does your rear fogs work over there) are they using the bumper lights as rear fog's? if yes can you guys post pics of it lit and the switches too. They were not activated here in asia and in the US team falcon is selling this as an aftermarket. Just wanted to see if there was an OEM rear fog out there. thanks.

My Santa Fe has independent fog lights fitted in the bumber section of the car. The main lighting is on the tailgate. It's a UK spec model...

Front fogs were not fitted though!!!

What is RDS? Is that the feature that displays a radio stations info on the screen like what song is playing or the call letters etc?

I had this standard on some of the domestic (US) cars I owned and fgured it was a gimicky feature.

it tells you what radio station you are listening to, allows you to get traffic reports, and also retunes the station to the strongest signal

the radio is not a standard radio size. There is also the problem of the 6cd changer intergrated into the dash.

Have found that the German Hyundai website show a Radio for the New Santa Fe with RDS and CD but no cassette. Look for part number: M85002B100.

Just might solve the problem of the fitting issue.
