:beer: Hello everyone;
Lets start a discussion about the best recing league for the fans.
My vote goes to NASCAR :amen:

NASCAR is definitely the best if you enjoy mullet-watching.

As for which is the best for fans, it depends entirely upon what you want out of a race as a fan.

If you want the best-handling cars, most technology, and best drivers, then F1 is your series.

If you want something that's a little less Euro but the cars still have to be agile, the drivers have to know how to go fast and bite hard in the turns, then you like the IRL or whatever it is they call CART these days.

If you like getting sloshed and watching tanks with '50s-era technology slug it out and trade paint then you like NASCAR (I honestly don't dislike NASCAR, but really that's what it boils down to).

If you just want to see something go insanely fast then you like NHRA.

And then if you're into bikes there are lots of options as well...

Personally, I like just about all forms of racing, so it's hard to say what my favorite is. On any given day, one league might interest me more than the next. I think the artist formerly known as CART is pretty weak ever since Penske left, though, and wish from the bottom of my heart that the IRL and ex-CART (Champ Car World Series these days, I guess) would just work things out and go back to being one league.

Hi all,

The Australian V8 Supercars series gets my vote. Thirty odd similar spec (Ford & GMH) vehicles contesting numerous events, with 2 or 3 races per event with enduro events (including the mighty Bathurst 1000) scattered throughout the year.

Good support from the Konica V8 series.

Go Lowndesy.... :trophy:

Production racing( 360's, GT3's, WRX's et al) is good value too.

Cheers,

Andrew

Stage Rally takes the cake.

1. Its free!

2. The general craziness of the people around you. The Rally crowd is fun to hang out with.

3. You can watch from where ever you want (Sadly not in the US anymore, but designated spectator points are still very good.)

4. Its the ultimate spectator adventure. To truly see a rally it takes impeccable timing, a good map and some local knowledge.

5. Full blown race cars driving down your street. How cool is that?

6. Its incredibly easy to get involved.

YUP. Stage rally.
it still exists int he US, but not WRC.

I was in the pit crew for Joanna Balsamo, she drove a Black STi in the Rim of the World Rally. I got to hang out with Matt Johnston, the 2wd Champion of America, Travis Pastrana, the Motocross champ and new driver for Subaru Rally Team USA, and Leon Stiles, Won the US championship a year or so ago. I believe there is no other sport where you can come into contact and talk with the professional drivers.

In WRC Mexico, I talked to pretty much every top driver competing. I met Chris Atkinson, one of the newest drivers in WRC, he didnt get any attention from the press, so he was really happy to have some fans! we talked rally for a looong time.

RALLY TAKES THE CAKE!!
