In short, nobody knows.

In rumors: the 2007 will be largely unchanged (cosmetic stuff, no powertrain changes)

More rumors: the 2008, or 2009, or later? could have supercharger and/or rear-wheel drive and/or a new body and/or etc etc etc.

Nobody will know for sure until they hit the showrooms. All kinds of rumors were flying about the 2005, then the 2006, and not much has changed.

By the way, why did you start 2 different threads with essentially the same question?

hyundai is currently doing research and development into the new tiburon and yes it will be the second rwd vehicle that hyundai will release after the genesis... with hyundais plan to move upscale, they want the tiburon (rebadged as the tuscani) to compete with the power of something like a 350Z so the rumour that hyundai dealers are being told is that it will be a V6 with a supercharger as one of the motor options... if its successful, a convertible will appear about 8 months later

Aw's photos and lit shows nice exterior and up to 4.6L V-6 from Genisis. How about a 330 HP Ty. Sweet.

BK will probably use the final production name for the BH.

The Tiburon will be replaced by a model that will share veloster cues. So Hyundai will have the BK which is probably the Genesis coupe and then the veloster based fwd coupe. Sounds like a plan for me.

The BK v6 will be a 3.8: DI Lambda II with 300 HP.

BK concept will be coming out at the 2008 LAIAS. The production version will debut in London. The tiburon will be replaced with a veloster based coupe. The BK will complement the BH.

I read in a magazine recently that tha 2010 tib will be a little bigger and it had 5 different engins.. (one of which only comes over seas) I saw it myself in a mag but who knows if it'll really happen.. but anyways it said it will be a bit bigger.. about tha size of a mustang. its RWD and tha engins were 2.0, 2.0T(only over-seas) 2.7V6, 3.8V6, and believe it or not it said it was also gonna come in a 4.6V8.. i for one cant wait to see this.

So in correction: the 2.0T will be available for U.S. as alternative engine to the V6. Woot! The official website estimates the V6 to have 303hp and the 2.0T to thave 212hp. This all sounds very exciting with the rwd platform and available LSD!

So in correction: the Genesis coupe is NOT the next Tiburon. (Boo, hiss) Hyundai has said the Genesis coupe will be a new model and that the next Tiburon will continue to be a FWD coupe.

That makes me wonder how well that new Tib is gonna sell. Because the Genesis coupe, as said by Hyundai will not be a big bump in the price range from the Tiburon. I doubt the sales of the new Tiburon would be good if a little more cash gets you a Genesis coupe.

I agree. I don't know why Hyundai would want to keep 2 small coupes.

Good grief , a two year old thread !

I agree , it doesn't make sense for Hyundai to try to market two sport coupes when the one presently in their lineup doesn't sell very well .

I think the new fwd coupe will be marketed as a Kia , oh wait there is a concept Kia 290 hp turbo coupe , acknowleged to be close to production , i wonder !!!!!

My goodness, a 290hp fwd car, just imagine the torque steer :w00t:

Back the the Genesis coupe =) so it seems like everything will be the same for both trims except for the engines. I wonder which one do you guys think will be the better buy with price and performance taken into consideration? I would like the V6 because isn't this Hyundai's first attempt with tubro? It might take some time for it to be more refined if that's case...
