Bringing this thread back to life.

I have an 02 sonata v6, and I get the same problem. The pumps over here stop when they feel pressure, so it stops before it happens. If I keep pumping it'll happen more and more. The dealer diagnosed it as a fuel vent valve, but that wouldn't cause the gas the spit back up. I think somethings wrong with the fill tube, but they are sure it's the vent valve.
Any ideas? I don't want them to repair the vent valve to find out it's really something else, and have to spend more money because of a bad diagnosis.
