Hey all,
I'm a 21-year-old and just got my first car ever: a 2006 Sonata. It was a flip between the Corolla, which I thought was really cute and aesthetically-pleasing, but not as roomy or as smooth of a ride. Also, the eight airbags and 5-star crash ratings won me over. It doesn't seem as "youthful" as a car as the Corolla, VW Jetta, etc., but it's comfortable, handles well, and is powerful on the freeway & while switching lanes. Honestly, I love how it drives, and the safety features are a big perk.

I figure I'll own it for at least ten years, so when I'm 31 and out of grad school & in a professional career, I might want a more professional-looking vehicle than a current pop model.

Just curious what the average age of the Sonata driver is, if you don't mind posting.

Jen

Jen, what type of Gas do you use. We have already done the age thing, and Gas too. Your Sonata does NOT have 8 Air bags, it's 6. 8 on the Azera

I use unleaded gas - the dealer recommended using the cheapest offered at the station, because that's what the Sonata is "designed to run on."

The dealer swore to me (and my parents - I asked them individually how many airbags the dealer said the car had, and they each affirmed it was 8.)

The eight airbags are supposedly:
4 side, 2 passenger, overhead, and curtain

Jen

P.S. Thanks for pointing me to the previous threads; looks like a big range of ages.

Jen, you can only buy unleaded Gas. They took the Lead out in the 1970s :bwekk:

Good to know. :) What did your question mean, then?

he means what Octane- usually 87, 89 and 91 or 93, some may be lower in high elevation states. The sonata has 6 airbags, it seems your counting a set twice. Theres the driver and pass. front airbags (in the steering wheel and dash) Front side airbags (in the driver and pass. seatbacks) and the curtain air bags, which deploy from the roof, above the windows.

[I][FONT=Times][SIZE=7]You pose a very perplexing question. As a former car salesman I would hope that people of all ages would purchase such a fine product.

To answer your question directly. I'm 45 :amen:

There are only six airbags, the front, the side seat and the side curtain.

Sorry about the dealer or salesman telling you otherwise.

Hello..

Glad that you chose the Sonata... I am 54 and traded up from an 03
tiburon gt. I like the quiet, power and comfort... as far as the air bags go, I see 6 in my car so someone was a bit lost at the dealership... the car does get the 5 star rating though. I get around 26-27 mpg with my v6 and it eats pretty much whatever gas I feed it without a hitch.

Enjoy...

Ray
