QUOTE(Jered007 @ Jun 5 2006, 02:18 PM) Well, I've had my car for 8 days now and just discovered something fun & exciting: when you're test driving a new vehicle and you ask the salesman, "Is the Air Bag light suppose to be on?" and he answers - "Yeah, that means the air bags are working," IT IS A LIE! Yeah, so for the last 300 miles my wife & I have been driving a brand new car with air bags that ?maybe? won't work at all. This is combined with the fact that I drove to the dealership this AM (0730) to wait for an HOUR for a new key to be cut (they lost the 2nd key).... to get home & find out that the key doen't work! Don't worry though - I'll be well compensated because when I called to inform them of these errors they offered to set me up an appointment to fix it all tomorow morning & give me a loaner car till mine is ready.... What fantastic customer service! ..... not so much
Wow, I got 3 Keys this time around. If the Air Bag light stays lit, take it in to the shop. I've had my Car into the shop about 10 times now, just got back from getting a new Window washer pump. I found the best new Hyundai dealer in the world!. I can't believe you didn't try the spare key :whistling: So on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your new Sonata?. And a helpful hint. It's a good idea to get in early for a service appointment, but you can have a key cut within minutes, usually without waiting. What type of "well compensation" are you expecting for your troubles?.

QUOTE(Jered007 @ Jun 5 2006, 04:56 PM) My "well compensated" was a sarcastic remark because they pretty much offered nothing. I'm not sure how to "rate" my hyundai experience yet - we'll see how that whole air bag light situation works out. Just really angers me that I (being stupid & believeing the salesman) bought a BRAND NEW car with a problem. I think at the least I should be offered another tank of gas - I've pretty much blown the first free tank running back & forth 4 times (30 min round trip). Also - for my service apt for the key this morning - they open at 0730 - I was there at 0740 to wait an hour for a key that didn't work. Isn't the new sonata supose to come with 3 keys anyways? Two main keys and a valet key? Mine came with 1 key and 1 keyless remote.
Yes you do deserve something like a free tank of Gas. Don't count on receiving a survey, but I'll tell you how Hyundai corporate can help. You then bring it back to the dealer, tell them you want some Gas vouchers, or... And New Cars sometimes have to be brought back to be adjusted, and or properly finished. Plus in my case there were 3 recalls waiting for me. Sure they are supposed to be done before we take delivery, but... However you will be loving the Sonata more and more each and every day, if that's important!. ________________________________________________________________ "I have just purchased a new vehicle and I have not received my survey. How do I get this to fill it out?" "You can get a new survey if two conditions are met: 1)We can issue a new survey if your vehicle has been registered for less than 60 days and If you are the original owner. Send this information to consumeraffairs@hmausa.com"

Yes, the Sonata has been having some issues with the passenger Air Bag light.... My daughter weighs 120 pounds, and most of the time, sitting in the passenger seat, the light stays on...
I have an appointment at my dealership tomorrow, and am going to raise the issue. Will report about the findings.
