I own one of these beasts which I imported form the Sultanate of Oman last year (thought it was a good idea at the time!!), it is a 1999 2.5TD Galloper II LWB LHD. I have managed to get it registered in the UK after about 4 or 5 months real hassle. It was done as a personal import but because the rulues in the UK have changed I couldnt just put tape over the lights, they had to be 'real' RHD lights. This was a real problem as Gallopers are not made RHD (although I know of someone who says he has one!!!!!!!!!). Renault 5 headlights were fitted and did the trick until it passed then I put the Galloper lights back on (tape needed for its next MOT though). I am now trying to locate a source of spare parts either new or used as I have tried Hyundai UK, Germany and Belgium and they do NOT want to know. The Gallopers are sold in Germany as the exceed by Mitsubishi and they will NOT sell me parts either because it hasnt been imported into Germany??????? I have also tried Hyundai dealers in Israel who couldnt or wouldnt help and France who didnt reply (didnt think they would either?). Do any of you Galloper owners ANYWHERE in the world know where I can get either new or used bits for this vehicle? I am also trying to get a workshop manual and a parts catalogue (if they exist?), can anyone help with this too? The only part I am needing at the moment is a front wheel hub AUTO/freewheel cap (the funny shaped thing with AUTO freewheel written on it and held on by 6 screws), just the cap not the whole freewheel unit!! It would probably take an age to get one from Korea?????
