So I've seen several of you have head great experiences with the Lap 3 uncle chip. Lots are skeptical.

Is there anyone out there that has had a BAD experience with it? Just curious.

The only thing I have to say that could be perceived as negative would be: I am un installing mine for the winter once the temps drop to freezing around here because all that extra power doesn't help in ice and snow ... stock power losses traction just fine on it's own..lol

And I keep checking around as well to see if anyone has any negatives but none found.

The Lap 3 just plugs in using the factory harness's. If you're worried about failing emissions you can easily remove it when you go get your car inspected.

Inspections are more for safety issues than emissions, and there are plenty of ways to make your car pass emissions testing.

My 450whp eclipse has no egr valve, no evap canister, no fuel vent valve, and has a 3" exhaust from the turbo back. I did have to throw on a high flow cat for visual inspection though.

Just installed an oil catch on mine this weekend. It took longer to drill a hole in the L bracket I got from HomeDepot than the installation took. I will build a better bracket when its warmer but its 5 degrees out so I just wanted the can in! No skill needed for the LAP3 or the can. The can install is simply removing a bolt ( I used the mount for the windshield washer fluid) attach your bracket for the can to that mount and then unhook the hose from the PCV and attach that to the can and run another hose back to the PCV. Done.

I went and did both sides and wasn't too hard to do. I went with both cans from Saikou Michi, they sell them for the sonata and sell them with brackets to give a nice fit on both sides. I still haven't brought the chip yet. I live in Chicago and winters here suck so I didn't want to add power to the car driving on snow and ice. But as soon as it gets warmer I'm getting it and the plugs too. Right now I figured I get the cans done and get it ready. My can on the PCV side picked up a little bit of nasty stuff just after 1000 miles with no chip, I wish I installed it when I first bought my car.

What has your experience been with this in the winter? Any issues with it freezing? -- I like in MN and have a fear of condensation freezing and clogging the line.

Can someone post some pics of where they mounted the catch can and drilled the holes?
Would love to see different mounting locations as well. Looking for a good mounting bracket. Have limited tools and have not found a suitable solution yet.

I didn't drill any holes to install both of them. PCV side there are 2 screw holes already there that are unused. On the intake side I got it held down with the stock screw screwing down the grounding cables in front of the battery. My cars a 2012 not sure if these locations are the same on other years.

So you were able to find a bracket at the hardware store that had holes already drilled the right distance apart for the CC mount?

Do you have any closer pictures of how the CC is mounted to the bracket that is mounted to the washer fluid mounts?

Edit: What are all the red tubes you have going in and out from under the engine cover??

yes, I miss spoke. And I don't see any reason to not use the lines included on the intake side of things, I know they are flowing as they have a coating/film inside all the way through HOWEVER I think I am going to move it to the PCV side and run dual inline cans since it seems 97% of the blow by is coming from the PCV side.
