Hey guys im new to Hyundai. Bought my first 2012 Sonata Turbo few weeks ago and love it. However, im starting to think that the claimed MPG is no where near the REAL MPG... Am I alone in this?
Its an 18 gal tank right? and Im getting about 350 miles per tank which is about 19MPG... Dont they claim like 26mpg combined?
The 350 miles im getting per tank is based on an equal amount of city/highway with a bit more hwy. I drive in ECO mode 90% of the time with cruise control and accelerate slowly most of the time. Yes I drive like a grandmother because my job reqires me to do 1000 miles a week, so trying to conserve gas and im disappointed so far
It means unless you are properly calculating your mileage none of these numbers matter. Everyone gets so fixated on their display but don't realize that thing is weighted toward what ever you did right after your last fill up or reset.
You have to use the fill to fill method dividing your miles traveled by the gallons required to refill.
