The 2012 2.0T SE has a different lower control arm on the rear. I know from personal experience that it will rub on 16x7.5 alloys. Are the wheels you are talking about steelies?

Another interesting fact is that TireRack recommended 16 inch steelies and alloys for the 2012 2.0T SE until early Nov 2011. Then they changed their recommendation to 17 inch alloys. I have not seen any posts where 16 inch steelies were used on 2012 2.0T SEs. Good luck.

I don't know if the rims will fit, but your tire size is too small. I'm running 215/55R16's and as it stands, the speedo reads about 8% too fast due to the smaller diameter of the wheel. Mathematically the downsize seems to work, but when you drop from an 18 to a 16, the sidewall squishes down more, making the effective radius of the wheel (center of the hub to the ground) shorter than the actual radius of the unloaded wheel. I believe that is why the sonatas with steelies actually run a 205/65R16. From what I read, 16 steelies will not fit 2012's but in the event that they will, you need to go with 65 as your aspect ratio.

would running 215/65R16's be an issue?
Just curious since there's a set local for $140 great shape.

Would these fit the Sonata as well? http://omaha.craigslist.org/pts/3492083715.html
Or these? http://lincoln.craigslist.org/pts/3511040025.html Rim OK?

I"m NO genious when it comes to car wheels and tires. These are all local so some help from anyone who know's what fits would be good. Thanks and sorry if this is a high jack.

I wanted a different rim for the side wall height, it's more forgiving in the rutted or ice chunky roads than the stock 18's.
Also because I wanted to keep the 18's for the "nicer" months. I happen to like them, so having a seperate set of 16" steelies with snow tires makes financial sense. (tires for the 16's are easier to come by and cheaper)

By the way, I just picked up a set of Blizzaks (205/55R16) non-studded, that look brand new for $250. Now for some steelies.
Guy even was selling a 47" Sony flat screen LCD for $100. (needed a power cord) lol

^^^ +1
The sidewall is your friend when you are looking for rough duty such as a snow tire.

Score deal on the Blizzaks - I'm probably gunna get studded snow tires at my local Les Schwab. Have run them now on three different vehicles with good results (Integra, Grand Cherokee, and Camry). The ones on the GK have been on it every winter since 2006 and have very little wear.
